In this house, we celebrate half birthdays. On the 4th, it will be HJ’s half birthday…which we celebrated today.
We started the celebration by getting HJ’s old fish tanked cleaned up and making a trip to PetSmart. HJ picked out a cute, blue, betta fish and instantly named it Sharkey (not to be confused with his last fish, Binky the Shark).
We spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside. HJ ran through the sprinkler, got out a slip-n-slide, and rode his scooter for hours. When it was time to run a few errands, HJ was more then happy to relax in the car while I stopped by the bank and filled up the car with gas.
Then, while driving home, we noticed a girl laying on her lawn with a pig. Naturally, we had to stop. HJ and I pet the little piggy, named Theo. He was noisy when you picked him up, so HJ was happy to stay at a distance.
We went to my grandparent’s house for our usual Sunday dinner, and I brought half a birthday cake with 5 and a half candles to help celebrate.
HJ surprised us after dinner with a piano recital and magic show. He started the show off by saying, “Let’s go around the room and say our names and tell something about yourself.” I have no idea where he gets stuff like that, but it makes me laugh so hard.
We then came home, and HJ told me he loves his fish and that it was such a good day. And it really was.
