boxIn an effort to cut out chemicals from our household, I have done a few things.  We use homemade cleaner, dishwasher tabs and face wash.  One thing I had been wanting to switch to was Dryer Balls.  I have read the benefits, but never actually made a purchase.  They were a bit more expensive then dryer sheets (so I thought), and I was worried they might damage clothing or leave it all static-y.  I hate static in my clothes.

When Woolzies offered me a box of their dryer balls, I was excited to finally try them out.  They arrived with a fact sheet as to why dryer balls were in fact a good investment, and I put them to the test.

specs

The Woolzies Dryer Balls came in a box of 6.  I was told to throw them all in the dryer.  I was worried it would sound like tennis balls in the dryer, but I have not noticed any extra sounds.

I have been using the Dryer Balls for close to a month, and can say I have not noticed a huge difference between the chemical filled dryer sheets and the all-natural Woolzies Dryer Balls.  My clothes have not been static-y, are still soft and it works great for my sensitive skin (I can’t use certain dryer sheets because of this sensitivity).  I even timed a load of towels, and with the dryer balls compared to sheets, it was 5 minutes less.  Not a huge amount, but better than nothing!

The biggest thing for me, the Woolzies Dryer Balls are GUARANTEED to last 1,000 washes.  That’s a whole lot of laundry.  I usually do about 4 loads a week.  At that rate, the box of Woolzies Dryer Balls I have, will last me just under 5 years.  That’s right, 5 years.  Even if you average 1 load of laundry a day, they will still last you just under 3 years.  It makes the initial cost of $34.95 seem pretty good, huh?

I will definitely be continuing to use the dryer balls in place of dryer sheets, and on top of that, one of you can to!  Woolzies has graciously offered a box of their dryer balls to one of my readers.

To win, just make sure to follow my blog via email or bloglovin and leave a comment.  A winner will be selected on Wednesday, September 11th.  Good luck!

  1. Static is the worst… Might have to invest!

  2. They sound interesting. I currently just use vinegar as fabric softner. I was using homemade laundry soap but I broke down and bought some store bought because after months of using homemade my clothes weren’t feeling clean and bright. Maybe its the formula I was using.
